The employee’s date of birth is a mandatory field in the /contributions request.
The date of birth is used to calculate the employee’s age and work out if they are subject to auto-enrolment: employees under 16 or over 75 are not subject to auto-enrolment.
If an employee is outside of this age range and wishes to join, the employer should contact The People’s Pension directly.
Contributions will be accepted where the employee is 15 years 11 months or 75 years 1 month old and their birthday falls within the pay reference period.
